Special Response Team

The Rhea County Sheriff's Department "Special Response Team" consists of 11 members and a support team.  These officers are trained to deal with a variety of high risk situations such as barricaded suspects, high risk warrants, and narcotic search warrants.  These officers train on a regular basis to maintain a high state of readiness.  They must maintain a good physical conditioning, a high degree of proficiency with their weapons and equipment and a strong dedication to the team.  They are on call "24-7" and must be able to respond immediately to any call out.
