D.A.R.E.

The D.A.R.E. program approaches crime prevention at the point where attitudes toward life experiences are formed with our school children and beginning at an early age.  Beginning at the sixth grade level, deputies work with children in Rhea County School System throughout the school year to bolster positive attitudes toward themselves and others.  This involves countless hours in the classroom providing children with the tools they need to develop good self esteem as well as how to cope with peer pressure.  This program is an interactive approach to providing positive development of the skills needed tot know how to avoid activities that are self-destructive in nature.
